PowerSecure is hiring a Sr. Product Engineer who can focus on Switchboards. This position will be based out of our Research Triangle Park (RTP) location. PowerSecure is a manufacturer and user of custom switchboard solutions, including but not limited to automatic and microgrid switchboard solutions. These switchboards ultimately collect and distribute power, in varying manners, from any combination of utility, generator, photovoltaic, battery energy storage, and fuel cell energy sources. 

Here's what you need to have to be considered for this position: (Minimum Qualifications you need to possess!) 

  • BS degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Relevant work and industry experience, specifically with switchgear and switchboards will be considered in lieu of educational degree(s).
  • 7+ years of work experience as a product engineer for another manufacturer, or other manufacturers, of UL MV metal-clad switchgear and UL 1558 LV metal-enclosed switchgear. (Switchgear focus) OR 7+ years of combined work experience as a product engineer for another manufacturer, or other manufacturers, of UL 891 LV switchboards (Switchboard focus) 
  • 10+ years of total work experience between manufacturing, engineering, test, and field services primarily focused on supporting UL MV metal-clad switchgear and/or UL 1558 LV metal-enclosed switchgear or UL891 LV switchboards.
  • Proficient working with Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Proficient working with AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT.
  • Proficient work with EATON and/or Schneider Electric’s MV metal-clad switchgear and LV metal-enclosed switchgear and/or switchboard pricing and configuration tools

Here are your key areas of responsibility as a Sr. Product Engineer: (These are essential functions!) 

  • Sales Support - supports Sales and EPC teams
  • Pricing Support -works with the Estimating team
  • Marketing Support - collaborates with Sales, Project Development, EPC, and Marketing teams
  • Order Engineering Support - works with Production Engineering team
  • Order Management Support - partners with vendors, Purchasing & Engineering Design teams
  • Manufacturing, QC, and Test Support - teams with Manufacturing, Quality Control and Test team members
  • Post Order Support - Teams up with the Product Services team
  • Product Development Support - partners with various teams to provide technical support as needed
  • Product Maintenance Support - collects feedback from all teams to ensure continuous improvement
