Over the past year, severe weather events across the United States from the winter storm in Texas to Hurricane Ida have severely impacted the electric grid and made national headlines. Locally, hurricanes Matthew and Florence have had significant impacts on North Carolina’s grid. This panel will highlight what North Carolina utilities are doing to improve resiliency, what types of technology can help communities recover faster, and the importance of collaboration to prevent and restore power following a storm.

Virtual Networking
We love bringing people together - so to facilitate virtual networking during this event, we'll enable Zoom’s chat feature so you can view participants and connect with colleagues and potential collaborators. Although the event will formally end at 2:00 PM, we will keep the event open until 2:15 PM EST to provide you with a more time to connect with fellow participants. Additionally, we plan to share the name and organization of each person participating (no other contact information will be provided) approximately 1 day prior to the event. Those who do not want their name or organization shared prior to the event should contact Emmit Owens at emmit@researchtrianglecleantech.org. While we know this is not the same as connecting in person, we hope it will provide an opportunity to derive additional value from the meeting.
