North Carolina counts on reliable, secure power for almost everything we do - but long-term increases in demand for electricity, coupled with the increase in severe weather events, means we need to act to protect our grid. Even now, in our pandemic-fueled '24/7 weekend' mode of energy consumption, we need to prepare for a return to peak energy demand and the threats associated with extreme weather. What is being done to improve the efficiency of our energy supply, ensure the safety of our power infrastructure, and incorporate more climate-friendly technologies into our energy mix?
Regional thought leaders across energy verticals will speak on:
-
The state of the grid in North Carolina and efforts to make it more resilient
-
The technologies enabling energy resilience, including backup power, intelligent controls, smart grid, microgrids, distributed generation, and digital twins
-
The critical role of partnership in energy management
-
The impact of global COVID-19 to our power supply and applications of clean technologies to help address it

Virtual Networking
We love bringing people together - so to facilitate virtual networking during this event, we'll enable Webex's chat feature so you can view participants and connect with potential partners. We will also share the name and organization of each person participating (absolutely no other contact information will be provided) approximately 1 day prior to the event. Those who do not want their name or organization shared can opt out during registration. While we know this is not the same as connecting in person, we hope it will provide an opportunity to derive additional value from the meeting.
