In today’s market, energy infrastructure on the grid, within our homes, and throughout our businesses is becoming smarter, more efficient, and cost-effective. These devices and equipment are revolutionizing the way we engage with our energy usage. Utilities and end customers alike can visualize energy usage with real-time data to effectively manage distribution and consumption.
These technologies create an incredible amount of data. As an example, over the course of one day, a single water meter can produce thousands of data points. This creates a need for data analytics experts who can dissect this information and produce actionable insights for utilities and customers.
The Research Triangle region has been called the “analytics capital of the world.” With the world’s largest data analytics provider, the country’s first master of science degree in analytics, and the country’s first two-year program in analytics, this reputation is well deserved.
Research Triangle regional companies are working to present data in a useful way to help customers reduce their energy demands, while also being transparent and open with the data to all interested parties. This event will feature data analytics companies from our region and the customers utilizing those analytical tools to innovate their energy portfolio.
