Advanced manufacturing is a key industry and economic development priority in North Carolina; it is also one of the highest energy-consuming sectors. The relationship between manufacturing and our clean energy transition are twofold, as manufacturers seek to improve energy efficiency in their operations while meeting the expanding product demands of the clean energy and energy-efficiency sectors. The recently passed Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) presents exciting opportunities to accelerate the clean energy economy through tax credits and other incentives that can benefit the manufacturing sector.
