From the Wright Brothers, and their first successful manned flight on the Outer Banks, to the Research Triangle Park, North Carolina has a long history of seeding innovation.
The energy industry is just the latest example. Hundreds of companies -- from startups and university spin-offs to mid-size supply chain innovators to multinational energy leaders – call the state home.
Few other locations on the globe boast the diversity and concentration of energy companies, and the depth of talent and world-class research in the energy sector, as North Carolina.
These assets have helped make North Carolina a first in energy innovation.
At a first-ever panel discussion at DistribuTECH, global energy executives with headquarter operations in the state -- ABB, Inc., Siemens USA, and Duke Energy -- will reveal how they collaborate with industry, academic, and government partners to advance energy technology. The panel will share insights into how key partnerships are supporting the development of integrated solutions shaping the future digitized grid.
Of special interest to international delegates, the U.S. Department of Commerce joins the panel to discuss how Carolina energy product and service suppliers are meeting worldwide needs.
Panelists:
Greg Scheu, President, Americas Region, ABB
Lee Mazzocchi, Senior Vice President of Grid Solutions, Duke Energy
Kevin Yates, Energy Management Division President, Siemens
Victoria Gunderson, International Trade Specialist, U.S. Department of Commerce
Christopher Chung, CEO, Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (moderator)
